First of all, thank you to all who have given their opinion for my cover. I have a fair number now, but I’d like a few more. To that end:
This is the book cover for The Clearing I got back from my cover artist, (click her name to go to her link) Ms. Karri Klawiter.
Personally, I love the picture, but I’m not sure on the font for both the title and my name. I need other opinions. You can comment on what you think of the picture too. Everyone fire away!
Thanks in advance
Thomas

Thomas,
a lot of covers are mundane and forgettable, and do nothing to advertise the contents of the book. Your cover is eye-catching and intriguing. As a reader it would certainly attract my attention – which, let’s be honest, is what every author is looking for.
Like a lot of people, I’m sure, I look forward to reading your novel.
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback…do you think the fonts get it done?
I think the fonts are spot on. Neither too large nor too small. It tells you all you need to know without detracting from the overall effect.
Very good..thanks so much
Since we are talking cover art, thought you might be interested in this week’s blog. I give some advice on doing your own graphics.

Very cewl…I’ll have a look
Hi Thomas
I agree with previous comments that the title in the center of the page distracts from the photo that determines the atmosphere. The title could be much lower on the page and I do not like the font for the author’s name, so I would play around with that a bit, make it stand out more, as the contrast between the title and the author’s name is too great and I think the author’s name should have a bit more emphasis.
Hope this helps. My book had a similar problem and it was citified before it went to the publisher.
Good luck,
Johanna van Zanten
Ah…that’s several who think those changes should be made. Thanks, Johanna…a big help
