In a previous post, I had a bit of a chest pounding session where I announced I had joined a superb rescue group call the Feline Freedom Coalition (click HERE to read it).
Since that post, Denise and I have been out to the property a couple times to work, and last weekend, I had the opportunity to snap some photos. This might give you a bit more of an idea on the setup. They are nestled on 20 acres of pine woods (the actual area they’re using is about 3 acres), and it’s out of the way and quiet as a church at midnight. On the weekends, several volunteers can be seen hustling and bustling about, ensuring their charges have food, water, a clean place to stay, and are properly vaccinated. Not to mention performing repairs and organizing the equipment and supplies. That’s where yours truly comes in. See, all the other volunteers are women. So naturally, when a being of the male persuasion rears his oversized head, he’s immediately sized for a mower, wheelbarrow, and tool belt. There’s much to be done, and much more to be gleaned in the way of satisfaction.
Anyway, these are the digs. You’ll find us out there Saturday coming. The smell isn’t always the best (Over 200 cats can mount quite an olfactory attack), but it, in it’s way, is one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen…I believe the permanent residents have a lot to do with that 
When you view the various enclosures, picture around 50 kitties in each…also, you can probably see that each house has a covered tunnel out to the enclosure so the kitties can go in and out as they choose…

I love seeing photos of a place where cats are cherished — the photo of the interior Doll House stole my heart — that beautiful kitty in the center of the room — so sweet!
That was amazing…and I understand she’s quite the diva too
It’s very satisfying work, doing what we can to help out around there. A daunting task for a handful of volunteers, I can tell you that. 
I am sure of that! But think of the happiness you give to those sweet cats! Good for you!
Oh yes…it’s one of those things where the satisfaction is derived from just knowing you are doing good
