We’re close to opening up our next novel, The Last Sunset, to beta readers. This novel by Bob Atkinson is a time travel adventure story set in Fort William and the Lochaber region of the Scottish Highlands. It’s 1746 and the Duke of Cumberland is on his way to crush the rebellion of Bonnie Prince Charlie.
The Last Sunset is a Romance and there’s romance too, but the redcoats are coming, and not all of them are gentlemen… There are battles to be fought if the Highlanders are to survive, and blood to be spilt. Worst of all is the future holocaust that rips a hole through time. If history is not changed, the future will doom us all.
Our beta readers will be given an advanced copy of the novel in paperback or eBook to pass comments back to us before full publication. Once the book is published, beta readers will be given a copy of the final paperback, with their names in the acknowledgements.
If you’re interested in joining up, leave a comment on our beta reader post, where you can also find more information.
The Last Sunset will be published soon in paperback (available from amazon.com and amazon.co.uk), and as an eBook available through all major eBook retailers.

Ok, so there are basically three different trains of thought on story outlining…
1. Don’t worry about outlining, just write as you go, and correct as needed.
2. Outline your plot loosely, and adapt as you go.
3. Outline the bejazzle out of your plot, and don’t waver, no matter what.
What method do you use, and why? Be sure to establish first whether you are speaking about a short story, novel, etc. We’re all out here to improve our writing…so let’s learn something…
