Now, let me first start out by saying that I consider all my interviews to be special. Whoever comes on here is a friend of mine, and it’s my intent to further their cause – and their sales – by giving them a bit more (I hope) exposure.
However, this particular interview is particularly near and dear to my heart. For those of you unfamiliar with the background story:
I was recently introduced online to Christina Worrell and her daughter, Raven. Raven is a very special young lady. Her brother Damien (Super D) has autism and ADHD – so Raven – that’s TEN YEAR OLD Raven – decided to write a book and get it published, in order to buy stuff for her brother. Incidently, Damien is a super hero in training, and has a pretty cool cape and mask you can see on his facebook page. I few “likes” for Super D wouldn’t hurt anything, either.
Christina (an accomplished paranormal writer herself) was astonished when her daughter walked up and handed her “Goblin Spells Unicorns”, a 2,000 word fantasy about goblins and unicorns. Christina helped her format it, and it now sits on Smashwords, available to all. I would urge you to help Raven realize her dream of helping Super D. She wants him to get the swing set he longs for, and some other things, too. We are all blessed with abilities which give us a unique responsibility: to help our own. I’ve purchased the book, and it’s a wonderful little bed time story for a child, imaginative and cute. The link to the book on Smashwords is above -and it’s only $1.99!
And now, my interview with Ms. Raven Worrell;
TR: Hi Raven. I want you to know that it’s a real pleasure for me to have you here today. Welcome!
RW: Thank you.
TR: So, Raven, how old are you and what grade are you in?
RW: I am 10 years old and in 5Th grade.
TR: What are your favorite subjects in school?
RW: I love reading. Math is kind of cool.
TR: What kinds of things do you like to do in your free time?
RW: I love to write, read, draw, play with my friends, and play Minecraft.
TR: Have you written anything before Goblin Spells Unicorns?
RW: Yes, song lyrics and poems.
TR: What do you like to do with Damien?
RW: We play games, go outside, help him ride his bike, and teach him new stuff.
TR: Very nice. What gave you the idea for your books story?
RW: My mom reads to us all the time. Sometimes she lets us make up our own stories. I will add something to it, then my brother, and then she makes it into a story. Then she takes turns asking us both what happens next.
TR: Why did you want to write your book?
RW: I love reading, writing, and drawing. Especially when my mom let’s us make up our own bedtime stories. It’s so fun! My brother and I told a story about a goblin and an ogre once fighting over a stream.
TR: I’ll bet your mother is very proud of you. What would you like Damien to receive with the money from your book?
RW: A swing set so we can play outside together on it. Also a white board so I can teach him on it, his ABC’s, numbers, and stuff.
TR: A swing set would be fun. Are you going to write any more books?
RW: Maybe. I have an idea about one witch and a princess. It’s called Super D saves the princess. I want to make a series out of it. I want it to be like a comic book for little kids.
Tbank you, Raven. Very well said. Good luck with your book and school. And tell Damien I said hi when you see him.
Ok folks, there you go. I’m on a mission, here. I want Super D to get that swing set, and I want Raven’s book to buy it for him. Two bucks on Smashwords….and I might add that I bought it and read it, and it’s a wonderful little children’s story. Um….are you there yet?
Tune in tomorrow when I interview my special friend, Ms. Gay Ingram….come join us!
