Vampire master Michelle, and her slave, Aaron Pilan, flee to Paris, leaving behind the slaughter in Las Vegas. Aaron made the costly mistake of taking a bloodslave, and then married her. The tragedy of his wife’s death has driven a rift between them and Michelle is desperate to heal the breach.
Struggling with his predatory alter ego, Aaron is fractious, rebelling against his master. He desires another bloodslave, and that Michelle cannot allow. She opens her heart and soul to Aaron and he relives, through her memories, her dark, gritty tale of survival in the savagery of WWII Paris under the German occupation. Michelle’s staggering revelations are deeply disturbing. The confrontation of master versus slave comes full circle as the couple faces death and separation.
And they are not alone in Paris. An investigator has followed them from Vegas seeking the unique gifts of Michelle’s blood. He’s watching and waiting for the opportunity to make his move against them.
Find out what happens in the third novel of the Nightlife Series.
THE GOODThe Nightlife: Paris is the third book in a series focused on vampires Aaron Pilan and Michelle. It is, by far, the best written of the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books. The third blew my mind.
It grabbed me from the first page. However, makes The Nightlife: Paris so engaging is the reveal of Michelle’s back story. Luedke changes Point of View to first person. We see the world through Michelle’s eyes as she meets the monster who turns her into a vampire. Her past mixes brutality and hope, violation and eroticism. We see Michelle’s humanity and monstrosity. We pity her, cheer for her, and scream at her for bad decisions.
Hyperbole drives me mental. I hate reading reviews like “Best book ever written” and “Just as Good as Tolkien.” I don’t believe them. However, I realized halfway through The Nightlife: Paris that this was indeed one of the best written vampire books I’ve ever read. I have no problem putting it side by side with Interview with a Vampire and I Am Legend. It truly is that good.
When I finished reading The Nightlife: Paris I LITERALLY screamed. I was having so much fun with the book I couldn’t believe it was over. The new book is scheduled for release in September. That’s too far away for my liking.

Another great book from Travis Luedke.I’m really glad that we got to know a little more about Michelle’s past in this book. Even thought Aaron is still mourning the lost of his wife Anastasia, Michelle tries to cheer him up, taking him to places in Paris.
I love reading this series, I can’t wait for the next one to come out.
Wow! It is obvious to me that Luedke has become more comfortable with his characters and the idea of revealing them to us in depth and detail. I never thought of Michelle or Aaron as two dimensional, but in The Nightlife Paris they step out of the pages as flesh and blood, so real that you can almost smell them. However, smelling them may not be such a good thing as this story is as gritty, bloody and fascinating as the rest of the series, but better!I will not offer a synopsis of this installment as I feel like the reader needs to experience this one without knowing what is coming. I will say that a large portion of this story is Michelle’s history, which we know from book 1 is dark and cruel. However, the depth of her suffering and lengths to which she had to go to survive was almost shocking in its stark depiction.
This segment of Michelle and Aaron’s tale is dark and graphic, but with mesmerizing descriptions and a morbidly compelling storyline, I felt this was the best of The Nightlife Series by far.
I was provided an advance copy of this book without charge for an honest review. My opinions are my own and have not been influenced by any payment, agreement or other compensation.

Travis has created a vampiric renaissance unequalled since Salem’s Lot. His two main characters, Michelle the master and Aaron her predatory mate are brilliantly written with gallons of gore and development in the lust department as the pair leave a swathe of blood-drained bodies wherever they stay. The sexually casual way the vampires use their prey with descriptions that leave the reader breathless with anticipation are nothing short of genius. Improvisation is the name of the game as Travis creates a masterful technique of modern words and language including French – which was easy to follow I might add – and embraces the genre injecting it with fresh blood to give rebirth to a drained subject.
And with the clever use of a lengthy flashback to the romantic era of a war-torn Paris to explain the vampire’s heritage this reader was left in no doubt this book surpassed all expectations with it’s fluent dips into sexual fantasies to please all tastes not demure. The story never drops in pace as we are dragged breathless through one catastrophe after another as the vampires are hunted by an unseen foe until they are separated by circumstances beyond their control, then we really feel how much these creatures can love and yearn what once was. This is a FIVE STAR GOREFEST EROTICA MASTERPIECE.
WOW. One word and that describes Nightlife Paris, it totally blew me away. Its so much darker, edgier, full of sadness, anger, jealousy and love. Aaron and Michelle have developed a lot in this third instalment to the point where Aaron isn’t the same man he once was. We get to find out about Michelle’s past which is hard to read, in parts its horrific and how I felt about Michelle in the beginning is different now. It is rather hard to write a review without giving anything away. But with new characters and Aaron and Michelle growing and becoming stronger, Nightlife Paris is one to definitely read. There’s so much I want to know about I can’t wait for Nightlife London. Emotional roller-coaster that will have you gasping. Its kick arse and sexy. I’m a blood slave to this well written series.

I read a novel that was published by a major UK publishing house over the summer, and in the middle of it, I came across a you’re that should’ve been ayour. I blinked, but that was about it. It certainly wasn’t the first time I’d come across a typo or a small mistake in a traditionally published book, but I can’t remember the titles of any of the other books I found them in, and I wouldn’t have thought any more about this one except for having to come up with a topic for today’s post. As an experiment, I read through the book’s not-so-positive reviews on Amazon.co.uk, but found no mention of this typo. Everyone else had apparently forgotten about it as well.

In the digital book marketplace, individual authors fight in the same ring with legacy publishers. The big publishers have an advantage: the power of their reputations grabs the notice of readers. Indie authors and publishers struggle for any attention at all. The “little guys” can overcome this disadvantage if they build their careers around three strategic pillars: brand curation, relationship marketing, and, finally, creating quality books.

Recently, our own Travis Luedke brought it to our attention that a certain “gentleman” by the name of Andrew Domonkos has been spamming the tar out of Goodreads, and had set up some sock-puppet accounts to assist him in doing so. (For those of you who don’t know, a “sock-puppet” is a fictitious account created to amass a large amount of voting and rating power on any given subject or book.)
So, I went and had a look-see at Messr. Domonkos, and lemme tell you, this guy is spreading muck in every corner of Goodreads. Not only has he created over 100 fake accounts, he has also run wild and given 1-star ratings to many, many books on Listopia.
Quite a number of authors want to have this idiot removed from Goodreads and his IP address blocked. If you feel strongly about this (and remember, if your book is listed on Goodreads, you’re fair game), then please click on the cover above, and join the conversation.
And if you want to read about more of Domonkos’ exploits, you can see Travis’ article by clicking on his banner:
